Joint National Meeting of KCU Organizations Held
Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- A joint national meeting of the Korean Children's Union (KCU) organizations took place at Mangyongdae Revolutionary School on April 15, the 107th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

Attending the meeting were the delegates of KCU organizations from all provinces, students of Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and Kang Pan Sok Revolutionary School and schoolchildren in Pyongyang together with pupils who would join the KCU.

Present there on invitation were Choe Hwi, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Nung O, chairman of the Pyongyang City Party Committee, officials of the youth league, war veterans and persons of merits.

The participants placed a floral basket and bunches of flowers at the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il in Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and made a bow to them.

Pak Chol Min, chairman of the Central Committee of the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist Youth League, in his report, referred to the feats of President Kim Il Sung who wisely led the KCU to successfully fulfill its mission and duty.

The parental loving care shown by the great Generalissimos to younger generations in the whole periods of their revolutionary leadership is being brought into fuller bloom thanks to Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, the reporter said.

He called upon all the KCU members to prepare themselves to be true sons and daughters and young revolutionaries loyal to the socialist motherland.

A ceremony for admission to the KCU was held at the meeting.

Led by Choe Hwi, the pupils joining KCU made an oath.

Officials, war veterans and meritorious persons tied red ties around the necks of the pupils and attached KCU badges on their chests.

Congratulatory speeches were made by Kim Song Bong, rector of Mangyongdae Revolutionary School, Pae Ji Song, student of Kim Il Sung University, Jong Kum Hwa, player of the Ministry of Commerce Sports Team.
