Korean Stamps Museum
Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- The Korean Stamps Museum in the DPRK has drawn a large number of overseas compatriots and foreigners as well as citizens after its reconstruction.

On display at the museum are stamps and postcards of diverse themes which show the immortal revolutionary feats of the peerlessly great persons, achievements made by the Korean people for over 70 years after their country's liberation from Japan's colonial rule, the national emblems of the DPRK, history, culture and customs of the Korean nation and animals, plants and natural scenery of the country.

Stamp albums collected by Chairman Kim Jong Il in his youthful days strike a deep impression on visitors.

Also, there are exhibition boards showing the history of postal communication in ancient times and the Middle Ages and the establishment of Korea's postal service system through Munwi stamp issued in October 1884 (by lunar calendar), the period of the feudal Joson dynasty, and other old stamps and postcards and their related data and relics.

And exhibited are such diverse and rare stamps as maiden sheetlet, sheet, multicolor stamp, 3-D stamp, graven stamp, connected stamp and postal card and DVD stamp, stamps jointly issued through cultural exchange with other countries, and diplomas, cups and medals awarded to Korean stamps at international stamp exhibitions.

The museum has stands for disseminating stamps and selling souvenirs.
