Joint National Meeting of KCU Organizations Held
Pyongyang, February 16 (KCNA) -- A joint national meeting of the Korean Children's Union organizations took place in Pyongyang on Saturday, the 77th birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

Attending it were delegates of the KCU from provinces and schoolchildren in Pyongyang and pupils joining the KCU.

Present on invitation were Vice-Chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea Pak Thae Song, Chairman of the Education Commission Kim Sung Du, officials of relevant fields and the youth league, war veterans and persons of merit.

Pak Chol Min, chairman of the Central Committee of the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist Youth League, made a report.

A ceremony for admission to the KCU was held at the meeting.

The made an oath, led by Pak Thae Song.

Officials, war veterans and meritorious persons tied red ties around the necks of the pupils joining the KCU and attached KCU badges on their chests.

Then Kim Hyong Bong, lecturer at the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum, Ro Chol Jun, section chief of the State Academy of Sciences, and Pak Mi Hyang, player at the Pyongyang City Taekwon-Do Players Team, delivered congratulatory speeches.

The speakers congratulated the pupils on their admission and asked them to further glorify the glorious tradition of the KCU, the reliable heir of the lineage of Paektu, and to grow to be stalwart future masters who will shoulder a powerful socialist country.
