The basic idea and principle of the foreign policy of the Workers' Party of Korea and the government of the DPRK is independence, peace and friendship, the article says, adding:

It is the revolutionary stand being essentially maintained by the WPK and the government of the DPRK in pursuing the foreign policy to steadily increase the unity and cooperation with socialist countries.

The WPK and the government of the DPRK have always made efforts to strengthen and develop the friendly and cooperative relations with socialist countries, motivated by the same idea and cause.

Developing the relations with all the friendly countries is a consistent principled stand of the WPK and the government of the DPRK in pursuing the foreign policy.

The foreign policy is the most advantageous and just one helping establish and develop external relations with all the countries which respect the sovereignty of the DPRK and are friendly toward it irrespective of differences in idea and social system.

The WPK and the government of the DPRK have established and developed state-to-state, political, economic and cultural relations with many countries on the principle of complete equality, independence, mutual respect, non-interference in the internal affairs and reciprocity.
