Omar Lopez, chairman of the Venezuelan National Society for the Study of the Juche Idea, was elected as honorary chairman of the preparatory committee and Felix Jesus Velasquez Castillo, general coordinator of the Federal Political Secretariat of the United Left Party of Venezuela, as chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to hold diverse political and cultural events in praise of the immortal exploits performed by the peerlessly great men for accomplishing the socialist cause and the global cause of independence on the occasions of the 107th birth anniversary of Kim Il Sung and the 77th birth anniversary of Kim Jong Il.
