The participants in the games will compete in football, basketball, volleyball, ice hockey and other events in Pyongyang, Sariwon, Samjiyon County, Pujon County and other places.

Present at the ceremony were Choe Hwi, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Sports Guidance Committee, Jon Kwang Ho, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Kim Sung Du, chairman of the Education Commission, Kim Jang San, secretary general of the DPRK Football Association, officials concerned and others.
