L. Shukolinikov, chairman of the Permanent Standing Committee of the Belarus National Association of Friends of Korean People Named after Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to give wide publicity to Kim Jong Il's revolutionary career and exploits and hold a celebration and other colorful political and cultural events in the run-up to the Day of the Shining Star, his birth anniversary.
