Gyula Thurmer, chairman of the Hungarian Workers' Party, was elected chairman of the committee.

The committee decided to organize political and cultural events praising the peerlessly great man for making contributions to the socialist construction in the DPRK and the accomplishment of the cause of global independence, on the occasion of the 7th anniversary of his demise.
