Performance in Tokyo Marks 70th Birthday of DPRK
Pyongyang, September 12 (KCNA) -- A performance for celebrating the 70th birthday of the DPRK took place at the Korean Hall of Culture in Tokyo on Sep. 8.

It was enjoyed by Chairman Ho Jong Man, Vice-Chairman Nam Sung U, Vice-Chairman and Director General of the General Affairs Department Pae Jin Gu, Vice-Chairman and Director of the Organization Department Jo Il Yon and Vice-Chairman Pak Gu Ho of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon, and Vice-Chairwoman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee and Chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Democratic Korean Women in Japan Kang Chu Ryon, advisors to the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, its department directors, the director of the Research Institute on History of Korean Residents in Japan, and senior officials of the central organizations and enterprises of Chongryon, Chongryon officials and other Koreans in Kanto area, the teaching staff and students of Korean University.

Among the performers were People's Artistes and Merited Artistes of the DPRK, February 16 Art Prize winners, artistes of the Kumgang-san Opera Troupe and the Tokyo Korea Song and Dance Ensemble, overseas Koreans of various strata and students.

Orchestral concert the Patriotic Song (national anthem) was played at the performance, at which colorful numbers including chorus "Song of the Proclamation of the People's Republic", male solo "Do Prosper, My Motherland" and female solo "Song of Chollima Forerunner" were put on the stage.

The performers sang the high praises of the exploits of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il for building a thriving nation and represented the national pride of the Koreans in Japan celebrating the 70th birthday of the DPRK.

There were also numbers reflecting the reverence of the officials of Chongryon and overseas compatriots for Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un who glorifies the DPRK as the greatest country admired by the world.
