S. Korean Organizations Erect Statue of Forcible Laborer outside Japan Consulate General in Pusan
Pyongyang, May 4 (KCNA) -- The Pusan Headquarters of the Movement for Uprooting Deep-seated Evils and Realizing Great Social Reforms and other civic and public organizations in south Korea erected a statue of a worker portraying a forcible laborer who had been forced into hard work after being taken to Japan during the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule in the vicinity of the Japanese Consulate General in Pusan, according to the south Korean KBS.

The organizations tried to erect the statue alongside the statue of a sexual slave girl outside the Consulate General on April 30 only to be resisted by police suppression.

There was a clash with hundreds of police as a result of which more than 10 persons were wounded.

The members of the organization denounced the south Korean Foreign Ministry and the Pusan City authorities for rejecting the erection of the statue of the forcible laborer outside the Consulate General, being worried about diplomatic conflict with Japan.
