International Kim Jong Il Prize Awarded to IIJI Secretary General
Pyongyang, February 15 (KCNA) -- International Kim Jong Il Prize was awarded to Kenichi Ogami, secretary general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea (IIJI).

An awarding ceremony took place at the Mansudae Assembly Hall Wednesday.

Present there were Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, Thae Hyong Chol, president of Kim Il Sung University and minister of Higher Education who is chairman of the Social Scientists Society of Korea, and Ju Chang Il, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Also on hand were Mukesh Sharma, secretary general of the International Kim Jong Il Prize Council, Henry Masiko, director general of the African Regional Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea and, Alexandr Prokhanov, editor-in-chief of the Russian newspaper Zavtra, who are members of the Council, and Kenichi Ogami and his party.

A decision of the Council was read out, and Kim Yong Nam awarded a diploma, gold medal and cup to Kenichi Ogami at the proposal of the Council.

Kim noted that Kenichi Ogami has actively conducted the study and dissemination of the Juche idea for decades while fully supporting the Korean people's struggle for national reunification and international justice.

Then congratulatory speeches were made.

Kenichi Ogami expressed his resolve to intensify the study and dissemination of the Juche idea.
