Peculiar Astronomical Phenomenon Observed in DPRK
Pyongyang, February 2 (KCNA) -- The Pyongyang Observatory under the State Academy of Sciences observed a peculiar astronomical phenomenon in which the moon, Mars and Venus were placed in an almost beeline in the western sky from about 17:30 p.m. till about 21:00 p.m.

After the sunset in the west the moon rose and the Mars appeared between the moon and the Venus after the Venus was seen first in the oblique direction under the moon.

This phenomenon was seen more vividly from about 18:00 pm and then the azimuth and altitude of the moon, Mars and Venus were respectively 45.6 and 40.73, 50.83 and 38.98, 56.17 and 35.65 degrees.

The above-said phenomenon resulted from the movements of the revolution of Mars and Venus around the sun and the monthly revolution of the moon around the earth.

Experts say that the phenomenon of Mars and Venus nearing to each other is often seen but the above-said phenomenon is rare.
