Acilino Riveiro, chairman of the Brazilian Committee for Remembering Leader Kim Jong Il who is co-chairman of the International Preparatory Committee for Gathering 2017-Praise to the Great Persons of Mt Paektu, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to organize such political and cultural events as celebration meeting, film show and photo and book exhibition praising the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il on the occasion of his 75th birth anniversary.
