Daniel Ortega Saavedra took a presidential oath at the inaugural ceremony.

There was a speech made by Daniel Ortega Saavedra.

Noting that Nicaragua has smashed the U.S. aggression and interference and achieved the reconciliation and unity, he declared that his country would develop the friendly relations with the world progressive peoples respecting its sovereignty.

Choe Ryong Hae congratulated him on his reelection and expressed support and solidarity with the cause of the Nicaraguan people.

He was invited to a reception given by the Nicaraguan government that day.
