National Meeting Marks 90th Anniversary of Anti-Japanese Women's Association
Pyongyang, December 25 (KCNA) -- A national meeting took place at the Hall of Women on Sunday to mark the 90th anniversary of the formation of the Anti-Japanese Women's Association.

President Kim Il Sung made sure that the Association, a Juche-based women's mass organization, was formed on December 26, Juche 15 (1926), helping the revolutionary activities of Mother Kang Pan Sok.

The Association was a new revolutionary women's organization true to Kim Il Sung's idea and leadership with the Juche idea as its guidelines. It was a powerful mass organization of women struggling to down with the Japanese imperialists and achieve the independence of Korea and the social and political emancipation of women.

Present at the meeting were Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, officials concerned and women's union officials and members.

Kim Jong Sun, chairwoman of the Central Committee of the women's union, made a report.

The reporter said that the formation of the Anti-Japanese Women's Association was a solemn declaration that the Korean women's movement entered a new stage of development victoriously advancing under the guidance of Kim Il Sung and a historic event of weighty significance in the development of the women's movement and their socio-political life.

After the formation of the Association, Kim Il Sung had wisely led the work for expanding and strengthening it, the reporter noted, adding:

The President founded the Democratic Women's Union of North Korea, which inherited the tradition of the Association, after the liberation of the country and guided the Korean women to powerfully push one of the two wheels of the revolutionary chariot with their united efforts.

The glorious history of the Juche-oriented Korean women's movement is associated with the noble devotion of Kang Pan Sok, the outstanding leader of the Korean women's movement, and Kim Jong Suk, the anti-Japanese war heroine.

Leader Kim Jong Il developed the Korean women's movement into higher level, firmly preserving and glorifying the President's idea on the women's movement and his leadership exploits.

The great leaders' politics of attaching importance to the women and respecting them is now creditably carried forward under the wise guidance of the respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

The reporter stressed the need for all the Korean women and members of the women's union to add brilliance to the tradition and history of the Juche-based Korean women's movement under the banner of modeling the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism and fully discharge their responsibility and duty in the struggle to accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche, true to the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un.
