Kim Il Sung formed the Saenal Children's Union, a new type revolutionary organization of children, on December 15, Juche 15 (1926).

The Saenal Children's Union was a vanguard organization of the Korean children who struggled against the Japanese imperialists to achieve the liberation and independence of the country and build a new society where the working masses are well off.

Present at the meeting were Choe Ryong Hae, Yang Hyong Sop, Kim Su Gil, officials concerned, officials of the youth league and teachers and schoolchildren in Pyongyang.

Jon Yong Nam, first secretary of the Central Committee of the youth league, said in his report that the history of the Korean children's movement since the formation of the Saenal Children's Union is a proud and glorious course of steadfastly carrying forward the lineage of the revolution under the guidance of the great leaders and the great party.

Kim Il Sung set forth the duty and task of the Saenal Children's Union and norm of life for its members and established a well-regulated work system for it. He led the union to dynamically conduct various forms of education and mass political activities such as reading session, story-telling, seminar and art troupe activities and thus powerfully rouse the broad strata of children and people to the struggle against the Japanese imperialists.

The Juche-based children's movement started and victoriously led by Kim Il Sung could develop on a higher level under the guidance of leader Kim Jong Il.

The children's movement is now greeting a great heyday of its development under the care of supreme leader Kim Jong Un, the reporter said.

Only victory and glory are in store for the movement of the Korean children as Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il wish the young students and children good luck for their bright future and supreme leader Kim Jong Un wisely leads the movement of the Korean children, they added.
