S. Korean Workers' General Strike Supported

| Pyongyang, October 21 (KCNA) -- Personages of labor, religious, civic and social circles of south Korea, more than 1 450 in all, held a press conference in Seoul on Oct. 18 at which they supported the general strike of the workers against the puppet group's unpopular rule, according to south Korean internet newspaper Jaju Sibo. The speakers said that the system of dismissal according to piece rate would weaken not only trade unions but also the workers' struggle to check the authorities' de-nationalization. The authorities are suppressing some public institutions to forcibly pass through the employment regulations without consent of trade unions, they deplored. They urged the regime to stop unilateral enforcement of the system. |
