Pyongyang, October 2 (KCNA) -- The Lao newspaper Vientiane Times on September 28 carried an article introducing the Korean people striving for the rehabilitation of the flood-hit area in the northern part of the country.

The article titled "Factories and enterprises of the DPRK actively support damaged area" said:

In the DPRK great efforts are directed to the drive for recovering the flood-hit area in the northern part of North Hamgyong Province by sending aid materials.

The workers of the Puraesan Cement Factory sent hundreds of tons of cement to the damaged area and are working hard to increase production of cement.

The workers of the Hamhung Steel Works are achieving big successes in production of bar steel.

Hydro-power stations including the Hochongang Power Station and Jangjingang Power Station increased production of electric power more than 1.3 times as compared with that in August to make contributions to recovering from the flood damage.
