Deep-sea Fishing Fleet of DPRK Makes Good Hauls
Pyongyang, August 20 (KCNA) -- A deep-sea fishing fleet of the DPRK are making good hauls of fish through an intensive campaign.

In this regard, Pak In Gon, department director of the Ministry of Fisheries, told KCNA:

The deep-sea fishing fleet consists of two factory ships and dozens of fishing boats equipped with modern telecommunication means, fishing tackles and omni-directional fish finder.

A trawler of the Hongwon Fishery Station catches 1.5 times more fish than scheduled on a daily average, thus taking the lead in the campaign.

Fishing boats from the Kim Chaek and Chongjin fishery stations also carry out their daily fishing plan over 120 percent.

Those from the Soho, Tanchon and Riwon fishery stations overfulfilled their assignments at 110-115 percent by applying such diverse methods as gill-net, purse-net and set-net fishing.

The same is true of fishing boats from the Wonsan, Thongchon and other fishery stations.
