Choe Ryong Hae Meets Officials Concerned of 31st Olympic Games
Pyongyang, August 7 (KCNA) -- Choe Ryong Hae, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, participating in the 31st Olympic Games as head of a DPRK high-level delegation, separately met with the president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the chairman of the organizing committee of the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games and the president of the International Judo Federation (IJF) on Aug. 4.

The president of the IOC expressed deep thanks to the DPRK leadership over dispatching its high-level delegation led by a vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission to the 31st Olympic Games.

Saying that the DPRK government is directing its efforts to developing sports with the goal for building a sports powerhouse, he stressed that the IOC hopes for boosting the cooperative and close relations with the DPRK.

The chairman of the organizing committee of the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games said he came to know that the DPRK government is attaching very weighty significance to the current Olympic Games, hoping that sportspersons of the DPRK would register good achievements in the games.

The president of the IJF said that a DPRK's high-level delegation's participation in the current Olympic Games reflected the DPRK government's will to develop the country's sports and boost the exchange and cooperation with world sportspersons.
