S. Korean Opposition Parties Accuse Regime of Suppressing Public Protest against THAAD Deployment
Pyongyang, July 21 (KCNA) -- Opposition parties of south Korea voiced opposition to the regime's suppression of Songju County residents' protest against THAAD deployment.

The floor leader of the Minju Party at a press conference on July 18 said to start an investigation into the case in which inhabitants of Songju County held back the "prime minister" and his party is a stereotyped measure reminiscent of creating the customary atmosphere of suppression.

Before severely punishing the protesters, the regime should acknowledge its wrong deed of unilaterally choosing the site for THAAD deployment without any communication with residents, and pay attention to the feelings of angry residents, he added.

The deputy spokesman for the party noted that people's mindset was well known through the "prime minister's" trip to Songju County.

THAAD deployment is related to the life and security of people and their means of living and, therefore, the argument on it cannot be stopped at the instruction of the "president," he added.

A spokesman for the Kukmin Party urged the regime to seriously reflect on what it did wrong over the fact that the "prime minister" in charge of state affairs was pelted with water bottles.
