Young Vanguard Renew Their Pledge
Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- There took place an oath-taking meeting of the young vanguard in front of the statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill on Wednesday on the 22nd anniversary of demise of the President.

Present at the meeting were Choe Ryong Hae, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, youth league officials, youths and students.

Prior to the meeting the participants laid a floral basket and bouquets before the statues of the great leaders and paid tribute to them.

Jon Yong Nam, first secretary of the Central Committee of the youth league, made a report which was followed by speeches.

The reporter and speakers said the President embarked upon the road of the revolution in his early years and fathered the immortal Juche idea and saved the country and the nation from the Japanese imperialists. The President defeated the two formidable imperialist enemies in one generation, successfully led the two-stage social revolution and built a socialist power independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence on this land, they said, and went on:

The President put forward the idea of attaching importance to the youth and deeply loved and trusted in the youth during the whole period of his leadership over the revolution, providing the great unit of successors to the Korean revolution and opening a new history of the Juche-oriented youth movement.

The ideas and wishes of the great leaders are being successfully realized on this land as the DPRK is holding in high esteem Marshal Kim Jong Un at the top posts of the Workers' Party of Korea and the state.

The reporter and speakers called upon all the youth league officials and other young people to uphold the great leaders as the eternal sun of Juche and carry forward the cause of the Juche revolution that started in Mt. Paektu down through generations under the leadership of Kim Jong Un.
