Suppression of KCTU Chairman Denounced

Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- The Citizens Solidarity for Democratic Society of south Korea on July 4 made public a commentary in denunciation of the suppression of Han Sang Gyun, chairman of the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU).

The commentary referred to the fact that the Seoul Central District Court sentenced Han Sang Gyun to 5 years in jail on charges that he instigated an illegal assembly.

The judicial authorities' sentence can not mar solidarity between workers and citizens, the commentary said, calling for rectifying the wrong sentence.

It noted that the Citizens Solidarity for Democratic Society would make positive efforts for ensuring freedom of assembly and demonstration and three labor rights through strong solidarity between workers and citizens.
