Concert Marks Birthday of Famous Composer
Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- A concert was given at the East Pyongyang Grand Theater to mark the 100th birthday of composer Kim Ok Song.

Kim, who could take the genuine road of artistic creation only when he came to the embrace of President Kim Il Sung after the liberation of the country, worked to compose revolutionary music till the last moments of his life, true to the Juche-base idea of the Workers' Party of Korea on literature and arts.

Supreme leader Kim Jong Un made sure that a concert was given to mark the 100th birthday of Kim Ok Song, praising the feats he performed by composing so many famous songs representing the times loved by the people.

Officials, creators, artistes, journalists and editors in the fields of literature and arts and media, teachers and students in the field of arts education and bereaved families watched the concert.

Present there on invitation were overseas Koreans, diplomatic envoys, representatives of international bodies and military attaches here and foreign guests.

Put on the stage were music composed by People's Artist Kim Ok Song.

Among them are female duet and female chorus "Song of Mangyongdae", piano concerto "To a Decisive Battle", tenor trio "My Song in the Trench" and soprano solo "Kangson Is Hometown of Chollima." They were applauded by the audience.
