Rodong Sinmun Urges S. Korean Authorities to Stand by Side of Nation
Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- The south Korean authorities do not conceal their uneasiness, getting nervous about the stand of Trump, Republican presumptive nominee, toward Korean policy these days. Because whenever he mentioned his foreign policy, he cited the issue of the U.S. forces' presence in south Korea, talking about free ride for security. He complained that the U.S. is unilaterally spending money in south Korea, suffering losses for helping it. He declared he would let the south Korean authorities shoulder the whole burden of upkeep for the U.S. troops, when elected president. He even made such remarks that in case they object to his demand, he would withdraw the U.S. troops from south Korea and would not care about whether a war breaks out on the Korean peninsula, stunning the south Korean lackeys who kowtow to the U.S.

Rodong Sinmun Tuesday observes in a commentary in this regard:

The south Korean authorities are now at a loss whether to pay such huge upkeep for the U.S. forces in order not to court the displeasure of their American master or remain helpless for failing to meet his demand.

The U.S. imperialist aggression forces' presence in south Korea and the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK are the root cause of unending pain resulting from the national division, escalating military tensions and danger of a war on the Korean peninsula.

In order to ensure lasting peace on the peninsula and achieve independent reunification by the concerted efforts of the Koreans it is necessary to make the U.S. troops pull out of south Korea and put the earliest end to the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK.

The south Korean authorities had better stop acting as stooges of outsiders and stand by the side of the nation, though belatedly.

If they have the true will to improve the inter-Korean relations and achieve peace and reunification, they should take the stand of national independence and respond to the patriotic proposal of the DPRK, though belatedly, not persistently doing harm to the fellow countrymen, backed by foreign forces.
