Meeting of Koreans in Japan Celebrates Kim Jong Un's Election as WPK Chairman
Pyongyang, May 17 (KCNA -- A meeting of Koreans in Japan took place at the Korean Hall of Culture in Tokyo on May 14 in celebration of supreme leader Kim Jong Un's election as chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).

Present there were Chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) Ho Jong Man, Vice-Chairmen Nam Sung U and Pae Ik Ju, Vice-Chairman Pae Jin Gu who doubles as director general of the General Affairs Department, Vice-Chairman Pak Ku Ho, Vice-Chairwoman Kang Chu Ryon who doubles as chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of the Korean Democratic Women's Union in Japan, Chairman of the Central Audit Committee of Chongryon Hong In Hum, advisors of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee and its department directors, leading officials of organizations and enterprises of Chongryon, chairpersons of Chongryon headquarters in Kanto area, officials of Chongryon, Koreans in Japan, teaching staff and students of Korean University and student representatives of Korean high schools.

Ho Jong Man in a report said that Kim Jong Un's election as chairman of the WPK is a special event that would bring a new history of great victory to the movement of Koreans in Japan along with the homeland.

He extended the highest glory and warmest congratulations to Kim Jong Un upon his election as chairman of the WPK, reflecting the unanimous loyalty of all Chongryon officials and other Koreans in Japan.

He called on them to get united close around Kim Jong Un and dynamically advance toward the hopeful future where victory and glory are promised under his guidance.

A letter to Kim Jong Un was read out at the meeting.
