Anders Kristensen, chairman of the Denmark-DPRK Friendship Association, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to give wide publicity to the exploits of President Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un and organize diverse political and cultural events on the occasion of the significant days next year such as the Day of the Sun (birth anniversary of Kim Il Sung) and the Day of the Shining Star (birth anniversary of Kim Jong Il).
