Seriously-burned Student Recovered in DPRK
Pyongyang, April 24 (KCNA) -- Some days ago, a patient with serious burns left the North Phyongan Provincial People's Hospital of the DPRK after recovering his health thanks to the sincere efforts of its medical workers.

The patient is a student of the Sinuiju Disabled Soldier's School.

According to Ri Jong Il, vice-director of the hospital, the student was in a critical condition in mid-July last year when he was carried to the hospital after getting 2-3 degree burns on 72 percent of his body.

Medical workers of the hospital had over 40 rounds of consultations for recovery of his health while many teachers and students from universities in Sinuiju City volunteered to donate their blood and flesh for the patient.

Rounds of skin-grafting operations proceeded with hundreds of people in attendance. Used in the operations were thousands of square centimeters of skin, 4 600 ml of blood and 350 liters of various transfusions.

And a large number of citizens had made sincere efforts for the health recovery of the student while he was in the hospital.

After all, the patient could recover his health completely in half a year and this is a true picture of our socialist system where all the people form a large harmonious family, the vice-director of the hospital said.
