The declaration said President Kim Il Sung waged decades-long bloody battles to set a world example in their struggle for national liberation and human emancipation and leader Kim Jong Il dedicated his whole life to the Songun revolution to bring happiness to the people and prosperity to the country, adding that they have been revered by all people as the eternal sun and peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu.

The declaration called upon all American countries to form the preparatory committees, set the "year praising the great men" from April this year to the Day of the Sun (birth anniversary of Kim Il Sung) next year and organize significant political and cultural events on several occasions.
