Genaro Ledesma Izquieta, chairman of the People's Front of Workers, Peasants and Students of Peru, Osvaldo Larriva Alvarado, chairman of the Economic Committee of the Ecuadorian Parliament, and Acilino Riveiro, chairman of the Brazilian committee for remembering leader Kim Jong Il were elected co-chairmen of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to organize colorful political and cultural events praising the undying feats of President Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un in the region in touch with the preparatory committees of countries in the region with the approach of the meeting.
