Pyongyang, April 12 (KCNA) -- A solidarity meeting took place at the Taedonggang Diplomatic Club on Tuesday to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic ties between the DPRK and the State of Palestine.

Invited to the meeting were Ismail Ahmed Mohamed Hasan, Palestinian ambassador to the DPRK, and his embassy officials.

Attending the meeting were Sin Hong Chol, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, So Ho Won, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and vice-chairman of the DPRK-Palestine Friendship and Solidarity Committee, officials concerned and citizens.

Sin Hong Chol said President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il always paid deep attention to the just cause of the Palestinian people to regain the legitimate national rights including the establishment of the independent state.

The Korean people will invariably support the struggle of the Palestinian people in the future, too, Sin said, renewing the will to make every effort to develop the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.

The Palestinian ambassador said President Kim Il Sung and President Yasser Arafat laid the foundation of the relations of friendship between Palestine and the DPRK and developed them in common desire and purposes.

He hoped that the Korean people will overcome all difficulties and achieve big successes in the drive for building a thriving socialist nation under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un.
