Hopeful Woman Marathoner of DPRK
Pyongyang, April 12 (KCNA) -- Kim Ji Hyang of the DPRK came first at the Mangyongdae Prize International Marathon (42.195km) held here on April 10 with the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung as an occasion.

In the women's race, Kim from the Pyongyang Sports Team finished tape in 2:28:04, thus renewing the record she set at the 2015 Beijing Marathon to be qualified for the 31st Olympiad.

She made a new record of 2:34:52 at the Chinese Taipei International Marathon two years ago and bagged a trophy in half marathon of the 2015 Singapore Women's Race.

Born in Jagang Province of the country, she has also proven successful in national games, including the women's marathon (30km) of the Youth Championship in 2013.
