Mineral Output on Increase in DPRK
Pyongyang, March 25 (KCNA) -- Mineral output is on sharp increase in the DPRK in the ongoing 70-day campaign to greet the 7th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea with unprecedented labor achievements.

The Mining and Alloying Element management bureaus under the Ministry of Mining Industry carried out the gross industrial output value for the campaign at 165 percent and 117 percent respectively as of March 24.

According to data available at the Mining Management Bureau, after the start of the campaign, the mineral output was increased 1.2 times as compared with the same period last year.

Different mass movements in the Unhung, Changdo, Unpha and other mines were conducive to the overfulfilment of their assignments for the campaign, which was led to increased production of copper, lead, zinc and barite ores.

Monthly targets were also hit by Riwon, Oil, Songchon and Sangnong mines.

The Taedonggang Battery Factory under the ministry has made such fresh successes as producing batteries necessary for the construction of Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station No. 3 and Hyesan-Samjiyon broad-gauge railway.
