Pyongyang Acrobatic School in DPRK
Pyongyang, March 12 (KCNA) -- Forty years has passed since leader Kim Jong Il guided a performance of the first-term graduates of the Pyongyang Acrobatic School on March 12, Juche 65 (1976).

That day the leader indicated the tasks and ways for training reserve acrobats while having a talk with senior officials in the field of literature and art and the Pyongyang Circus.

Guided by his instructions, the Pyongyang Acrobatic School has produced a large number of talented reserve acrobats, and its graduates have created and performed a lot of admirable acrobatic works representing the stamina and wits of the courageous Korean nation over the past years.

"Trapeze Flight" by the first-term graduates won the titles at the 8th and 9th world acrobatic championships and the 2nd World Acrobatic Olympic Festival and the 10th International Circus Festival in the 1980s.

Also, acrobatic numbers performed by other graduates of the school took gold and top prizes at Monte Carlo, Wuhan, "Golden Circus" and other international acrobatic festivals.

They presented an aerial stunt "With Wings of Leap" to the 15th Wuqiao International Acrobatic Festival last year and physical acrobatics "Three-stage Trapeze Flight" to the 24th Massy International Circus Festival this year, both getting the top prizes.

In the period tens of them had won the DPRK titles of Merited Artist and People's Artiste and Merited Artiste.
