Emergency Seminar Held in Tokyo
Pyongyang, February 29 (KCNA) -- An emergency seminar on the recent situation in the Korean Peninsula was held in Tokyo on Feb. 22 under the sponsorship of the National Association for the Promotion of Japan-Korea Diplomatic Relations.

Present there were personages of various strata in Japan.

Former Prime Minister of Japan Tomiichi Murayama, chairman of the association, said that the seminar was held to cope with the acute situation in the Korean Peninsula aggravated by the "sanctions" moves of the U.S. and its followers after the first H-bomb test and successful launch of earth observation satellite Kwangmyongsong-4 of the DPRK.

Haruki Wada, honorary professor of Tokyo University, in a speech referred to the gravity of the situation around the Korean Peninsula, saying that Abe regime's hostile policy toward the DPRK is barring the dialogue between the two countries.

Yoshiki Mine, lecturer of Tokyo University, slammed the U.S. for shifting the responsibility for solving the issue on to the other, while insisting on the dismantlement of the DPRK's nuclear weapons first.

He disclosed the injustice of double standards of the U.S. and its followers and the UNSC "resolution" finding fault with the DPRK's satellite launch for peaceful purposes.

The issue of boosting NGO exchanges between the two countries to cope with the prevailing situation was underlined at the seminar.
