Rafael Mariano, president of the Philippines Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification in the Korean Peninsula, Luzviminda Jlagan, member of the parliament, and other figures were elected co-chairmen of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to organize colorful political and cultural events praising immortal feats of President Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un.

It also decided to conduct positive activities denouncing the U.S. imperialists and their followers' moves to stifle the DPRK, and supporting the just cause of the Korean people.
