Day of Shining Star Marked in DPRK Missions Abroad
Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- Photo and book exhibitions, film shows, receptions and other events took place in the DPRK missions in Cuba, Laos, Mongolia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Spain, Egypt, Guinea and Senegal from February 11 to 16 in celebration of the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il (the Day of the Shining Star).

On display in the venues of the events were photos showing exploits of President Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un and their works, and books and photos introducing the efforts of the service personnel and people of the DPRK.

Films shown included Korean films "Pyongyang Today," "Masikryong Ski Resort" and "Songdowon International Children's Camp."

Present at the events on invitation were personages of different social standings, representatives of groups for the study of the Juche idea and organizations for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people in relevant countries.

The general secretary of the National Democratic Party of Mongolia and the president of the Mongolian Peace and Friendship Organization said that the exploits performed by Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il for the country and its people would be immortal.

A vice foreign minister of Myanmar praised Kim Jong Il as the great leader who turned the DPRK into a politico-ideological power and a military power with his outstanding ideological and theoretical activities and wise leadership.

The chairman of the German Communist Party said Kim Jong Il saved the cause of global socialism from crisis and the DPRK would advance along the way chosen by itself and be ever-victorious, no matter what others may say.

The honorary chairman of the Bulgarian Communists Union said the biggest exploit of Kim Jong Il was that he completely solved the issue of succession to the leadership.
