Members of the public organizations including the Tok Islets Fellowship Society and students held a press conference in Seoul on Feb. 22 and protested against Shimane Prefecture, Japan hosting an event to observe "Takeshima (Tok Islets) Day" on that day.

They accused Japan of tampering with history such as designating Tok Islets as "part of Japan's territory", the waters off the islets as "Japan's territorial waters", neighboring waters as exclusive economic zone in the textbooks.

Tok Islets are part of Korea's territory from A to Z, they claimed.

They demanded Japan rescind the "Takeshima Day" at once and disallow the history textbooks peppered with lies.

Other public organizations also held similar press conferences and cultural events that day.
