Pyongyang, February 20 (KCNA) -- The Korean people have enjoyed the January 15th of the lunar calendar as a holiday from long ago.

Among holiday cuisines they have prepared for the day is sweet rice dish, a traditional festive one well-known for its high nutritive value. Culinary materials for the dish include glutinous rice, honey, chestnut and date.

According to historical records, it was considered as a festive dish for the January 15th of the lunar calendar during the Three Kingdoms (3rd century B.C.-7th century A.D.) and the Feudal Joson Dynasty (1392-1910) and for the January 4th of the lunar calendar in the period of Koryo Kingdom (918-1392).
