Sincerely wishing all Koreans bigger progress in the new year, the letter noted:

We once again express our aspiration that the issues of the north-south relations and national reunification would be settled in a peaceful and friendly atmosphere between the north and the south in order to realize the wish of the Korean people for national reunification.

We hope that the new year would be a year of prosperity for the DPRK and our Korean brothers.
