Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- Officials of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea made a study tour of revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu from Feb. 3 to 8 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il.

The members of the expedition group held a meeting for declaring the start in front of the Monument to the Victorious Battle of Pochonbo on Feb. 3.

The reporter and speakers called for deeply grasping the revolutionary history and exploits of the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu associated in the battle sites during the anti-Japanese revolution and defending and glorifying the party's revolutionary traditions.

Upon arrival at Pochonbo the members of the expedition group looked round the command post of the Battle of Pochonbo, post office, the sub-county office and the fire station, after being briefed about them before the statue of the President.

They visited Rimyongsu Revolutionary Site and Chongbong Bivouac after going through Spring Site in Poso-ri and Tableland of Junghung. They looked round the site of headquarters and the site of campfire.

They then visited Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp where they felt strong yearnings for him in front of relics showing his childhood.

A pledge meeting of the officials of the trade union took place in front of the old home.

The visit to the Samjiyon Grand Monument helped the visitors call back the intense loyalty and reverence of the anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners and people for the President and the indomitable fighting spirit of the members of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army.

They marched along Kapsan-Musan guard road and went round the Monument to the Victorious Battle in Musan Area and also visited the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station.

They also helped clean the revolutionary battle sites and conduct colorful political and cultural activities.
