British Organizations Accuse U.S. of Shunning Conclusion of Peace Treaty with DPRK

Pyongyang, January 22 (KCNA) -- The British Association for the Study of Songun Policy, British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and the Korean Friendship Association UK issued a joint statement on Jan. 14 slamming the U.S. for sidestepping the conclusion of a peace treaty with the DPRK.

The statement said:

The U.S. has long turned its face away from the DPRK's proposal for replacing the Armistice Agreement with a peace treaty.

The U.S. is a crude violator of the AA.

The AA is an international legal document concluded on the premise of building lasting peace-keeping mechanism unlike truce agreements in other countries and regions.

The abnormal situation is prevailing in the Korean Peninsula on which there is neither a war nor peace due to the U.S. opposing the conclusion of the peace treaty.

A spokesman for the supreme command of the Korean People's Army issued a statement on March 5, 2013 finally declaring as its self-defensive countermeasure that the AA has been reduced to a dead paper due to the U.S.

The U.S. is wholly to blame for the defunct AA.

It should admit its criminal nature of its opposition to the conclusion of the DPRK-U.S. peace treaty and immediately opt for building a peace-keeping mechanism in the peninsula.
