In the message the president extended the warmest congratulations to Kim Jong Un and, through him, to the friendly people of the DPRK on behalf of the Nigerian government and people and on his own behalf on the New Year, 2016.

He expressed the belief that the long-standing traditional friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would grow stronger in all spheres in the hopeful New Year.
