Renewed Looks of Pyongyang for This Year
Pyongyang, December 29 (KCNA) -- The looks of Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, has undergone a radical change this year, with a number of edifices built in different parts.

The Sci-Tech Complex took its shape on Ssuk Islet in the River Taedong in a short span of time, displaying the will of the DPRK to outpace the world by dint of science.

Mirae Scientists Street appeared on the bank of the River Taedong, consisting of apartment houses for thousands of families and over 150 welfare service facilities.

The edifices also include the Pyongyang Home for the Aged and the Terminal of Pyongyang International Airport.

The Mangyongdae Schoolchildren's Palace was splendidly remodeled to meet the needs of the present times.

Jangchon area in Sadong District turned into a highly-civilized rural town arranged with modern dwelling houses and service facilities.

And such industrial establishments were built or renovated as Pyongyang City Mushroom Farm, Pyongyang Children's Foodstuff Factory and Pyongyang Catfish Farm.

Parks and pleasure grounds in streets were bettered with new species of turf and flower and fruit trees planted, while many apartments and public buildings were coated with tiles and paints of various colors.

Over 150 settling ponds were repaired and an embankment project was carried along the banks of the River Taedong, renewing the looks of the city.
