S. Korean Authorities' Confrontational Moves under Fire
Pyongyang, December 27 (KCNA) -- Shortly ago, Minister of Unification of south Korea Hong Yong Phyo at a seminar made a litany of gibberish that the proposal for reunification by a federal formula, whether it is a low level or high level, could never be accepted for it was advanced by the north.

In addition, talking volumes about "huge amount of fund" the south Korean authorities are cunningly stirring up the public opinion, saying that it is hard to say "yes" or "no" as to whether the resumption of the tour of Mt. Kumgang is in violation of the UN "resolution on sanctions against the north."

Rodong Sinmun Sunday in a commentary says the south Korean authorities who tried hard to make the public believe they respect the June 15 joint declaration finally revealed their sinister intention.

The paper goes on:

Hong's reckless remarks are nothing but a denial of the June 15 joint declaration as he openly denied the paragraph 2 which vividly represented the basic spirit of the joint declaration By Our Nation Itself.

His gibberish clearly shows why the south side didn't admit the DPRK's just proposal at the recently stalled inter-Korean authorities' talks.

It is not difficult to guess why Hong blatantly challenged the proposal for reunification by a federal formula. He is prompted by an ambition for "unification of social systems".

The true nature of the south Korean authorities finds more vivid expression in their crude moves to put aside the resumption of the tour of Mt. Kumgang as they hinder the improvement of the inter-Korean relations and persist in confrontation with the north.

It is a cynical ploy to invent an excuse for repudiating the resumption of the tour of Mt. Kumgang that they are building up public opinion that the resumption of tour is in breach of the UN "resolution on sanctions against the north."
