Goalkeeper Ri Myong Guk of the Pyongyang Sports Team and Ra Un Sim of the Amnokgang Sports Team were selected as the best man and woman footballers for the second straight year.

Ri proved successful in the second round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Asian Zone qualifiers. And he was awarded a top goalkeeper prize of the 2015 EAFF East Asia Cup.

Ra led the DPRK team to winning the first place at the EAFF Women's East Asia Cup in 2013 and 2015.

She won a top scorer prize of the EAFF by scoring three goals in matches against Japanese and south Korean rivals.
