The participants paid homage to Kim Jong Il at the remembrance meeting held by the Socialist Party of Benin.

Ali Houdou, president of the Socialist Party of Benin, said Kim Jong Il, eternal chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, made sure that the DPRK displayed its dignity as an independent power by increasing the military capabilities of the country in every way under the uplifted banner of Songun.

A vice-chairperson of the External Relations Commission of the People's Party of Cambodia said Kim Jong Il was the eternal general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and a close friend of the Cambodian people.

The People's Party of Cambodia attaches importance to the friendship with the WPK and hopes to see the steady development of the relations between the two countries and parties, added the vice-chairperson.
