Concert Observes Demise Anniversary of Kim Jong Il
Pyongyang, December 17 (KCNA) -- A concert "People's Yearning" was given at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre Thursday, the fourth demise anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il.

Among the audience were Kim Yong Nam, Pak Pong Ju and other senior party, state and army officials, officials from armed forces organs, the Cabinet, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, those from city organs, persons who had the honor of being received by the great leaders and those of distinguished feats.

Overseas compatriots staying in the homeland, the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front, foreign diplomatic envoys and representatives of the international bodies and military attaches and their spouses here were invited to watch the concert.

The hymn for immortality of the leader "Boundless Is Our Yearning" resounded throughout the theatre in the form of a symphonic poem at the concert.

Put on the stage were piano concerto "Ode to Comrade Kim Jong Il" and the fifth movement "Appearing in the East and in the West, It's the Anti-Japanese Guerilla Style" of symphonic suite "O Korea, I Will Add Glory to Thee", an immortal classic masterpiece.

The performers sang high praises of the revolutionary life of Kim Jong Il who demonstrated the dignity and power of Songun Korea, covering an untrodden and unexplored path with his total dedication to the country and its people.

Female chorus "Song of Love for People" and mixed quintet "Oh, My Motherland of Songun" were put on the stage to praise the country shining with Kim Jong Il's patriotic exploits.

It truthfully represented the immutable faith of the service personnel and people of the DPRK to usher in a heyday of the great Paektusan nation under the guidance of Marshal Kim Jong Un, holding higher the red flag of Juche associated with the sacred life of Kim Jong Il.
