Petition against "State-compiled" History Textbook Presented to UN
Pyongyang, December 17 (KCNA) -- South Korean youth and children filed a petition against the introduction of "state-compiled" history textbook to the UN Human Rights Council.

A meeting took place in this regard in Seoul under the sponsorship of the "Action of Youth and Children against State-compiled Textbook" on December 12.

A "petition addressed to UN in demand of withdrawal of state-compiled textbook" was read out at the meeting.

It denounced the authorities for trampling down the people's action against the introduction of "state-compiled" history textbook with violence.

It said there is high danger the "state-compiled" history textbook will be used as a political tool, adding it will eulogize pro-Japanese acts and dictatorship.

It requested the UN to investigate illegal and inhumane behavior that was manifested in the moves to introduce the "state-compiled" history textbook and force the south Korean "government" to withdraw the introduction.

At the end of the meeting the participants conducted propaganda activities.
