Rodong Sinmun Slams Japanese Authorities' Trial Aimed to Stifle Chongryon
Pyongyang, December 14 (KCNA) -- The Kyoto District Court held a trial recently on the charge of "illegal import of Songi mushroom to Japan from north Korea".

It imposed jail terms and fine on a guiltless official of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan, a compatriot and a company on false charges made by the prosecution.

Rodong Sinmun Monday says in a commentary in this regard:

This fascist action was a clear revelation of the harsh hostile policy toward the DPRK, Chongryon and Koreans in Japan, a policy which has long been an incurable disease of Japan's politics.

This is proved by the fact that Japan's court authorities declared them guilty contrary to its constitution and criminal procedure code in breach of the principle of independence and impartiality of judicature.

This trial was staged, prompted by an extreme evil intention and political prejudice without any legal evidence. Therefore, it goes to clearly prove that the Japanese reactionaries are making desperate efforts to attain their sinister objective of their campaign against the DPRK and Chongryon while trampling down justice in utter disregard of law.

It is their deep-rooted sinister intention to create atmosphere of terror and pressure by stirring up extreme hatred, phobia and bad blood towards Chongryon and Koreans in the Japanese society in a bid to trample down the right of Koreans in Japan to live and stamp out Chongryon.

The Japanese reactionaries' despicable mud-slinging and crackdown upon Chongryon and Koreans in Japan are an unpardonable infringement upon the dignity of the DPRK and vicious politically-motivated provocation against it.

It is, at the same time, a flagrant violation of human rights, humanitarianism and international law.

The DPRK will never remain an onlooker to the Japanese reactionaries' ever more desperate provocation against the DPRK and Chongryon but strongly react against it, the commentary warns.
